How does Maine Harvest Bucks work?

At farmers’ markets - When you spend SNAP/EBT dollars on local food, you will earn BONUS BUCKS. These bonus bucks are good for fruits and vegetables!

NO SIGN UP REQUIRED. Just bring your SNAP/EBT card and get shopping!

Maine Harvest Bucks is available at farmers’ markets, CSAs, and farm stands across Maine. The program operates slightly different depending on which “outlet type” - farmers’ market, CSA, or farm stand - you shop at.

At farmers’ markets, shoppers earn BONUS bucks with their SNAP/EBT purchases to go buy fruits and vegetables.
At CSAs and farm stands, shoppers usually get a % discount on their fruit and vegetable purchases equivalent to the current Maine Harvest Bucks match.

Farmers’ markets use one of 2 methods: Shopping Sheets or Tokens.

Either way, you’ll begin at the market’s INFO BOOTH.
